Week 34!

  May 27, 2014
Friends & Family,
So this week’s miracles were just appearing!
First it was my companions birthday. I made her bacon and pancakes, YUMMY. Then we went out tracting and we knocked on this door and she was Hispanic and interested. So cute. Then the next day we were walking in a trailer park and we only had 30 more minutes before we had to leave. I said a quick prayer in my heart to know which one to knock on, I felt prompted for some reason to go to this door. So i said "hey lets go to the one," and walked over there and knocked on the door. Someone answers and says "HOLA?" They let us right in and we talked about the Book of Mormon. We got 3 new investigators this week! We are so blessed!!!

I LOVE prayers. It is so true how our prayers need to be specific. HE HEARS US. I promise you that. My companion and I said lets pray with all our faith that we will have a baptism this month. One of our investigators is getting baptized June 7th! I could not be more happier. I love her and I can't wait till she starts her new life! We have not just helped her but she has taught me so much these past 3 months. She is such an example to me! :) We are super happy for her! I am so glad that we had prayed for that specific thing with faith and all our heart! I know that Heavenly Father listens to our prayers. If you are doing what he asks, going to church, reading, etc. HE WILL BLESS YOU. He Loves His children and wants to bless them! I have never been so excited in my life! Watching someone grow so much and having such a great desire is amazing!
I love being a missionary, I love helping others, I love putting others first, I love serving the Lord, I love this gospel, I love my family, and I love my friends.
Thanks for everything y'all do for this work! I know He Loves all his Children! :)

Week 33

  May 19, 2014
Friends & Family,
This week was great, we got 2 new investigators! One Hispanic and one American. WE ARE SO EXCITED! It's so amazing to see the fruits of our labors. I am so excited to see where these people go! I love teaching this gospel! It is so amazing that we get to meet all these different people and help them have faith in Jesus Christ! Even though sometimes, we get rejected..! :)
I don't know how or why but I have the gift of loving people even though I don't know them.. people tell me once a week that they love how loved they feel when they talk to me. I really think it's not me, its Heavenly Fathers love, it's the spirit that makes them feel that way! I love how the spirit can work through us! I love being able to LOVE people!! I love everyone here in Elizabeth city and I am so glad to have been serving here for almost 7 months :)

The world is getting so scary and I am glad I am not really living in it. haha if that makes since. There was a Potato Festival here and we thought it would be a good time to go talk to different people about the gospel. MAN were we wrong. It's so crazy how scary this world is. I am glad I don't really know what is going on! Sometimes I think to myself I want to be on my mission my whole life so I don't have to hear bad music or anything. haha but that's life I guess.
I love this gospel so much! I love being a missionary! :)
I love and miss you all!!! :)

Week 32: Mother's Day!

  May 13, 2014
Friends & Family,
This week was kinda slow but amazing! AHH let's just say I am so grateful for Skype! I got to talk to my family! It was the BEST!! I want my family to know I love and care and pray for every one of them every day!!!  I miss them all so much! It gives me such comfort to know that Heavenly Father watches over my family!!! Doctrine and covenants 100:1 :)
Mission life is great! We are hoping to have one set with a date for June 7, 2014. So we will see how that goes! There are always some weeks when it is a little slower than others, but we can't control that... it's not our time or their time it's the Lords time!

This week I studied all about faith.. I love studying about faith. I have been trying to have more faith in me, investigators, and members. I found so many great scriptures that I love so much! In the Book of Mormon in 1 Nephi 7:11-12 it is Nephi talking to his brothers and his brothers are being rebels and don't want to listen to Nephi. Nephi tells his brothers that they need to remember what the Lord has done for them and to have and exercise their faith in the Lord!! It is important for all of us to remember what the Lord has done for us and to exercise faith in Him. We need to read our scriptures and pray daily. We need to go to church every Sunday, do those things that we always are hearing! They are important!!!
I know this church is true. I have seen so many miracles the past 7 months to testify of the truth! I love the feeling that I feel when I read and do what is right!!! I love you all and miss you all so much!!!

Week 31: Visit from Elder Bednar!

 May 5, 2014

Friends & Family,

Sorry I don't have much time today!

So this week was probably the best week of my mission!!!

We drove to Richmond, Virginia and we had the opportunity to hear from Elder Bednar! I was 50 feet away from him. There were 400 missionaries there, our mission and Richmond mission. The spirit was so strong and it was the most amazing time ever. Right when he walked in everyone was so quiet and it was the best feeling in the world!! I have never felt the spirit so strong in my whole life! It was so fun to be around all those missionaries. I was able to see and sit next to my old companion, Hermana Bennett! I miss her so much and wish I could be companions with her for EVER! haha

The hardest part of being a missionary right now is how sometimes I feel like I can't do enough. Sometimes I wish I could just help someone and be their friend. It is so hard knowing someone's life and just knowing that all they need is a friend to care and talk to them. I wish I could be that friend.  Its times like this on the mission where I can't do anything more, except kneel down to my Heavenly Father!

I love my life as a missionary! I love that we have a loving Heavenly Father who loves each of us!!!
