Week 38

 June 23, 2014

Friends & Family,

I never thought I could be this happy.

Talking and meeting the people I am meeting is such a blessing. I will never forget all these wonderful people. I felt so selfish when I was at home. Now all I want to do is serve others and that is where I find my true joy. I love talking, teaching, laughing, smiling, doing service with all these people I have never met. It is such an amazing experience to be here at this time with all these people whom i love so much.

One of our investigators came to church!!!!!!! Most of our investigators work every day of the week from 7 am -8 pm expect if it rains. We have been praying for it to rain on Sundays so they can come! Miracle.... it rains on Sunday! And Francisco comes to church! It was amazing! I love seeing the spirit in people's eyes. He said he felt such calm and peaceful! That makes me so happy!

Right now we have 3 Hispanics with a baptismal date! We are so excited! We love teaching a spreading the gospel! :)

My companion. She is truly a blessing in my life. She teaches me so much. We have so much unity. Literally we say the same things at the same time more than 3 times a day. No joke. In lessons we do and the people are like what "did you plan that?" haha in Spanish we do the same thing! IT IS SO FUNNY! when we study for our investigators in the morning we have like the same scripture we think will be good for that person! The Spirit is so amazing! I love feeling it always with me! I feel so warm inside.

I love The Book of Mormon and the power that it has! :) It makes me so happy everyday! Whenever I feel sad, frustrated, or confused... I READ IT! After I read it I feel so good! It is such a powerful tool that will convert us daily!! :)

Before my mission I had a strong testimony that I knew that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. I loved going to church, church activities but I was not converted to the lord. I am not saying I am perfect but I can say that I am truly converted to the Lord!!!!! :) I am so happy!!

I love and miss y'all!! :)

Week 37: First week in Gloucester, Virginia!

  June 16, 2014

Jaymee & Hermana Nord

Friends & Family,

Wow, I love Gloucester Virginia! It is amazing! This week was hard, emotional, fun and exciting!

So I got to Gloucester on Thursday and went straight to work. There are so many Hispanics I am so excited for my Spanish to get better. First my new companion, Hermana Nord is so great! She helps me so much! She has taught me so much in the last 4 days. I am so blessed for her in my life! :)
So we have around 12 Investigators. All Spanish but 1 I think. So Friday night rolls around and we are in a trailer with 4 men and a member with us. They are the funniest people EVER.  So a huge storm comes and the trailer is shaking and I am freaking out! Then the lights went out. I have never taught in the dark before. It is hilarious. haha They knew I was scared so they kept messing with me saying a tornado was coming and people are behind me! haha As you all know, I am a baby!!!! and I'm okay to admit it!!! haha :) That was a funny event.

So there is a restaurant here called "Salsa's" It is soooo yummy! Best Mexican food... NO JOKE. We have 5 investigators that work there and so we go there during their breaks and teach them and they always give us food and won't let us pay! haha they are all so funny!! I love them! It is so crazy how I've become to love people so fast!!! :)

This ward is great! They are so much fun! We had a HUGE BBQ! and we ate this families pig.... it was so weird but the best BBQ I have ever had. So we went to eat at the Bishops house and there were dogs barking like crazy. I didn't think anything of it and my companions says don't worry they are really nice! and I'll admit I was a little scared. This Big chocolate lab came behind me, I didn't see him and he BIT MY LEG. hahaha I was so surprised I was like what the heck? Did he really do that. So we walk inside and the wife said, "did he attack you?" I said, "yeah," and she said "WHAT?" She has never bit someone before. haha I guess the dog didn't like me.. Now I can officially say that I have been bit by a dog. It's a real missionary moment. Funny moments! :)

As I was studying the Book of Mormon I came across these verses, Alma 7: 22-24.  I love these verses so much. It is all the Christ-Like Attributes that we need. I don't know about you all but I need help on all these! It is so important to try to develop all of these Christ like attributes. I pick one a month and try so hard and focus on just one a month. It is amazing! I have learned so much!

I love this church, Book of Mormon, this Area, my companion!

I am so happy and I hope ya'll are too!! :)

Week 36: Jaymee's getting transfered!

  June 9th, 2014
Friends & Family,
WELL this week was full of emotion.
Our investigator got BAPTIZED. She is amazing. It was the most beautiful service I have ever seen! I am so proud of Melissa and her decision to get baptized. The spirit was so strong. Watching her start a new life was amazing. She is my joy and happiness! I love her so much! She is such an amazing example to her kids. Her kids will soon follow her example on June 28, 2014! :)

I am getting transferred! I am leaving Elizabeth City and I am going to Gloucester Virginia! I am very sad yet excited. It is really hard leaving this ward that I have been in for 7 months. I am so very grateful for the opportunity to have met them all! They are amazing! I will miss them so much!!!!! I love every single one of them! :)
Right before her baptism she came in and looked at me and said, "Is there any news that you need to tell me?" She staring crying... a member told her I am getting transferred. I was going to tell her after her baptism. And she hugged me and her kids and cried... I don't want to leave them! It was so sad. Sitting there crying holding them in my arms. But I know that Heavenly Father knows what's going on. Heavenly Father Loves them!! I will miss them so much!!!
Being a missionary is great! I love ever second of it! I love that sometimes ( most of the time) it is hard but I love that we can just kneel and pray to Our Loving Heavenly Father. He listens to you! He helps you when you need it. I love the relationship that I have with My Father in Heaven! I am so blessed with the people around me! I love my life!

Week 35!

  June 2, 2014

Friends & Family,

OKAY, GOD IS GOOD!

I seriously am so blessed. It is so amazing how you do all you can do, and trust in the Lord with ALL your might, be obedient and do as he commands and I PROMISE, he will bless you. It amazes me how I see blessings every day. I wish when I was growing up I noticed them more. It is so amazing! This Gospel is true. I love this life.

I love this ward that I am in! I have been here for 7 months, I couldn't ask for a better ward!! They are like family to me! I love EVERY ONE of them so much and don't want to leave them!! Cant I just stay here my whole mission? hehe just kidding! I love this mission LIFE!!!

This week we have a Baptism on June 7th, 2014. I am so excited.  She has taught me so much. I love helping people come unto Christ. It is probably my favorite thing to do. Something that is also amazing is that her 2 CHILDREN are getting baptized on June 28th, 2014! A family! A family that can now be together forever.

I Love this Gospel and I LOVE sharing it with others. I am so happy where I am in my life right now! I love my family so much and so excited to see them in 9 months!!! I am glad that we will be together forever! I love you all, thank you for all you do!!!

   Have a great week!
