Well so I left the CCM (MTC) at 2:30am
and there was a group of about 15 of us leaving, 5 minutes before we
are about to leave they said I have to ride in a car all by myself,
while the rest of the missionaries ride in a bus together. I was so mad
and sad and I started to cry. I was freaking out because first I was
alone, and alone with 2 Mexicans that didn't speak English AND I was at
the Mexico city airport. I was so nervous and scared but I just prayed
and felt very calm throughout that whole time, and for you guys that
know me usually I would be freaking out! haha. So I fly to Atlanta for
my lay over and run to the phone to call my family! I loved every moment
of that phone call and miss and love my family dearly! So after that I
met up with Shalai the girl I went through the temple with in Arizona!
and 10 other missionaries. They all came from the MTC in Provo so they
knew each other! But we got picked up from our president and met them,
then went straight a church and had a good dinner! Then had meetings
with the president! Everything was great! We went to a hotel and stayed
the night! Then woke up and got McDonalds for breakfast. I know
healthy haha! But then we went to the church to see who our trainers
would be! I was nervous but I got lucky and got a great trainer, Hermana
Bennett, she is from IDAHO and her dad just recently died.. sad! But
she is a major in Spanish.... she took it for 5 years and even leaved in
Mexico for 5 months. crazy! Seriously she speaks like a native its
crazy!! I hope one day I'll be there. I just feel so dumb! She eats
REALLLLLY healthy like oatmeal, wheat everything, only veggies and
fruits..... I'm gonna be SKINNY!! hahahah Well anyways!! My area is
Elizabeth City, North Carolina! Look it up! We are right on the bay, it
is super NICE!! It's beautiful. The sky and trees!! IM IN LOVE!!!! Thank
you moma, daddy, family for that package!! OH my gosh! I got there and
it was the best thing ever!! I cried cause it meant so much to me!
Everything I needed and wanted!!! I loved the cookies from daddies
cookies hahaha so yummy! I really appreciate that! It meant so much to
me!! So we moved into our little house! When we walk out we see the bay!
ITS AMAZING! (I'm sorry I forgot my cord to my camera so you will have
to wait till next week for pictures.. :( ) But so in our ward there
are 4 elders and then us two! So they came over and helped us clean our
house and from upstairs bring down a fridge washer, dryer and beds and
tables! haha crazy! But these elders are great! So nice! :) but anyways!
I have been asking all the missionaries what you get fed here and they
said chicken!!! So I was so happy! Our first dinner appointment.... I
walk in and we ate crab cake.... I literally almost threw up.. I
couldn't do it! I ate half of it! and I just said I was full!! How funny
the first night I eat crab!! BLAHHHH. Just my luck. hah, anyways, her
name is Sister Moore and she is in our ward. She went on a mission! Her
husband died when she was 25! She saw that I was cold and she said, "do
you have a jacket?" I said I'm going to buy a new one! She went over to
her closet and gave me the cutest most warm red jacket ever!! She was so
sweet! She said please take it and you keep it!! She is so dang cute!!
It fits great! and looks great! Everyone here is so nice!! So this ward
has been praying for sister missionaries for 5 years now! They are in
love with us!!! Every night we have a dinner appointment. They all come
up and hug us! haha it's so cute!!! Some people in the ward came over
and brought some food and supplies. Sister Anderson, gosh she is great
she took us food shopping! :) So nice! She is having all the
missionaries (8 of us) to her house for thanksgiving!! :) She has two
cute kids!! I love them! They always run up to me and hug me!!! It makes
me happy! :) So we have a lot of area to cover, we are in Elizabeth
city! and we have investigators in Nags head.. so that is 1 hour away
from us!! It's a lot of driving! All the Mexicans are all over!!! So
it's really hard! My Spanish still sucks but I have faith and I need to
be patient. I can do it! haha It will come! It's just so hard cause my
companion speaks better than some Mexicans. hahaha, but Sunday
was great! We got to meet a lot of people and they asked us to go up
there a bear our testimonies. It was great! I am starting to feel like a
missionary hahaha!! :) so I guess that's good :) EVERY Sunday
we go over to the Pendaltons for lunch and we had tuna sandwiches and
chips and soda and fruit and pumpkin pie! I am starting to really love
pumpkin pie :) haha then for dinner we went to Sister Andersons house
and had spaghetti, then played with her kids! :) Then we went to meet
with the Bagasos, they are GREAT!!! Javier and he is from Peru. He lived
in the Bronx from to 60's-80's. He told me to ask my grandparents about
a shop or something and it's called Alexander? Idk he said he knows how
to make Puerto Rican food so he will have me over and make it! I'm
excited! haha :) They gave us hot chocolate and corn bread? Weird mix
but it's okay! It was great! Then we went to a meeting with the
missionaries at 8 to the Umphelts house! The ward missionary house! It
was good had some ice cream and brownies! haha Talked about what we need
to do! It was great! This morning we went to play at the gym in the
church with our elders and played Oompa Loompa . It was great! It is a
game were you play Frisbee golf but with a football.. and then you shoot
it like a basketball. haha It is weird but way fun!! Anyways! I am
loving it here!!! This place is amazing!!! I can't wait to send you
pictures next week I am sorry I forgot my cord!! :( but You will love
it! Look it up for now! I hope all of you have had a wonderful week!!! I
